MGM Luxor Casino commissioned Classic Legacy to create custom gifts. I thought when I started this project that I would be working with a logo. It was however a more interesting assignment. This is what I’ve learned about developing personalized gifts for casinos.
Listen to the Customer
It is always important to listen to the customer. The buyer did not want custom “logo” merchandise. She wanted merchandise that reflected the theme of the Luxor. The Luxor is built-in the shape of a pyramid and their theme is Egyptian. I had done a lot of research to find medallions that represented Egypt. We were able to find wonderful pieces in the shape of a pyramid, Pharaoh, and Egyptian lion. I especially like how the wine carrier turned out with the large silver round medallion of the Pharaoh.
Promote Gifts that “Work”
It is important to realize that every gift that is in the Classic Legacy line may not be perfect for my client……but some of the gifts will be just right! Casinos attract a diverse crowd but almost everyone is there to have a good time. Gifts that promote good times and good memories are perfect. Classic Legacy bottle stoppers definitely “work” for casinos. They are the perfect gift because each time it is used in the future the stay at the Luxor in Vegas will be brought back to mind.
Remember the goal …..to get returning visitors
Casinos want return visitors. One of the best ways to ensure returning visitors is to wow them while they are there. The purse mirror is a gift that women always appreciate. A nice quality money clip is a great gift for men. Classic Legacy has both of these and we then added the Egyptian theme pyramid to each. These are personal gifts that visitors to the Luxor will use daily.
Let Clients Know how Easy it is to Create Personalized Gifts
Sometimes clients think it is difficult to create custom personalized gifts. I have learned to put clients at ease. We have years of experience to create just the right medallion or charm that represents ANY theme. Classic Legacy of course can produce medallions and charms with a logo or photograph and often we can create medallions similar to these that develop a theme but that are not strictly a logo.
