Celebrate the night! There will be a blue moon August 20, 2013. It will be a “seasonal blue moon” — the third of four full moons in a season. A seasonal blue moon hasn’t happened in nearly three years, EarthSky reports. The moon will not actually appear blue. “There was a time, not long ago, when people saw blue moons almost every night. Full moons, half moons, crescent moons — they were all blue, except some nights when they were green,” Phillips wrote for NASA’s Solar System Exploration. “The year was 1883, the year an Indonesian volcano named Krakatoa exploded.” I encourage you to think of ways to celebrate the night and the blue moon.
Celebrate the Night and the Moon with Lights
I am always encouraged at night when I look outside and see lights. I love to visit hotels, resorts, restaurants, museums, and stores that celebrate the night with lights. Lights just have a way of saying welcome to the night!
Celebrate the Night & Moon with Special Foods
Special treats are always a good way to celebrate the night and the moon. I did not know about moon cakes until I discovered what the Waldorf Astoria in Shanghai does to celebrate. The exquisitely crafted moon-cake gift boxes are filled with delicious Chinese pastry delicacies. They are the perfect accompaniment to the Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations. Think about celebrating with special foods for special events!
Celebrate the Night and the Moon on Your Roof
Many hotels use their rooftops for special events. The Peabody Hotel in Memphis holds rooftop events in the summer every Thursday night at 6:00. The best regional bands, and top touring acts entertain hotel guests and Memphians. Celebrate the night on YOUR rooftop!
Celebrate the Night with a Glass of Wine
A glass of wine is the perfect way to celebrate the night. Classic Legacy bottle stoppers are also the perfect gift to help celebrate. We have three bottle stopper styles including our silver classic style, charmed style and the marble bottle stoppers. Classic Legacy is known for our custom design and for our themes. We enjoy celebrations!
I love working with retailers in all venues. I enjoy creating custom gifts and gifts with themes for hotels and resorts. Have a wonderful time celebrating the blue moon and nighttime for weeks to come! If you would like to learn more about custom gifts for your celebrations click here.
