Lansky’s Clothier to the King – Retailer Celebrates Memphis and Elvis Week

Last updated on 02/01/2020 By Catherine Tatum Catherine Tatum

What a fun night in Memphis celebrating the opening of Lansky’s newest store, “Clothier to the King”.    The King was of course Elvis.   This store is all about celebrating the Elvis style.   It is located at 126  Beale Street in Memphis.   Lansky’s was originally on Beale Street and it was here that Mr. Bernard Lansky first noticed a young Elvis and invited him to “Come in and look around”.

 Bernard Lansky & Elvis
What a simple lesson to all retailers. Invite people in to look around! You never know who they are or may become in the future! This photos is now framed on the wall of the new store.

When I walked in the door the first person I saw was Julie Lansky.   She was there to greet visitors just like her grandfather did years ago.   It was such fun to celebrate this occasion with Julie, Geri, and Hal Lansky.   It has been a privilege to serve Lansky’s by creating custom gifts for their Peabody Hotel store.  I wish them all the best with “Clothier to the King”.

It takes a while to see take in all the cool clothing, shoes, and accessories.   Everything reflects the Elvis style!

Collage Blue Suede Shoes
There are several styles of blue suede shoes. I also love the vintage trunks that have been stenciled with “Lansky Bros. Wardrobe”.
Collage Memphis Shoes
I always am drawn to custom gifts and artists. Vintage inspired shoes that Elvis might have worn are featured in this new store. Look how cool these Memphis shoes are! They are hand-painted by a local artist.

The simple invitation that Bernard Lansky gave to a young man caught my attention.    He said to Elvis, “Come on in and let me show you around.”    You never know who you might encourage when you say these simple words!   I think these are wise words for all retailers to remember.

I enjoyed the evening and loved learning about the new store “Clothier to the King”.    I wish the Lansky’s the best in their new store.   To learn more about Classic Legacy custom gifts please call 901-756-9339 or email catherine@classiclegacy.com
