Why is it that some products sell so quickly? Why were Berkshire Hathaway marble coasters sold out so quickly? What makes one gift item sell better than any other? I think it is because that gift makes the buyer connect on a human level. Classic Legacy designed a set of 4 marble coasters for Berkshire Hathaway this year…..The coasters were in such demand that they sold out! The coasters were offered via Borsheims Jewelry Store in Omaha, Nebraska. Each year Berkshire Hathaway has a shareholders meeting. This meeting is very well attended and shareholders love to collect memorabilia of the company BRK.
Classic Legacy has designed and sold gifts for this event for several years. The leaders of Berkshire Hathaway know that connecting with business on a human level is the right way to do business! This design connection all began with a caricature of Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger. We were given the jpg image of the two men and each year working with the theme of the event changed the men to reflect the theme of the meeting. Look how Mr. Buffett was a cowboy, a pilot, and a train engineer. These images were all incorporated on the custom charms used in the design of custom bottle stoppers to celebrate BRK.
I am currently reading, The Women of Berkshire Hathaway. I am always interested in how other women use their talents in business as well as balance their role in other areas of their lives. This book is a fascinating read because for me it also answers bigger questions…….Why do some businesses succeed and others don’t?……Why do some products sell and others don’t? It is looking to me more and more the answer lies in the fact that it is important to develop a HUMAN BUSINESS……put people first. I’m reading about the life of Rose Blumkin, Susan Jacques, and insights from Adrienne Fay. Warren Buffett is famous for the quote, “If you don’t know jewelry, know your jeweler.” If you don’t know about _______ get to know someone who does know about that. The most successful businesses invest in people!
