Memphis Bicentennial Gifts Collage Art
I have created one of a kind pieces of mini collage art. Each features icons of Memphis AND each one has the numeral 200 to celebrate the Memphis Bicentennial.
Each Memphis Bicentennial art collage measures about 4″ x 3″. Some are oriented horizontally and some are oriented vertically. Icons included in this collage include the word Memphis, a steamboat, a guitar, and the word dream. Mixed in the collage are Swarovski crystals and silver vintage medallions.
The collage art pays homage to Martin Luther King’s, “I Have a Dream” speech, the Pyramid, Elvis, Memphis music, and the Memphis Barbecue Festival and many more iconic events in Memphis.
When I created this art collage I was thinking of St. Jude and Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital as I added the silver heart.
This art collage was created to celebrate and remember Martin Luther King. The Memphis past is remembered as we move forward during this bicentennial year.
